Provision of Public Facilities within Private Developments

Government Rent

All property owners are liable to pay Government rent under their land leases. The Lands Department is responsible to issue Demand Notes to collect Government rent for properties held under original term of leases granted before 27 May 1985 or leases renewed under the Government Leases Ordinance (Cap.40). For properties in the urban area, Demand Notes will be issued to rent payers:

  • once every 6 months for rent exceeding $100 per annum.
  • once every 5 years for rent of $100 or less per annum.
