Data presented in the Storytelling Map, updated as of December 2023, were mainly sourced from the Civil Engineering and Development Department and Census and Statistics Department (including 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2021 Population Census Reports and other information). Other data sources are stated on the individual thematic maps.
  2. A common new town boundary of Fanling/Sheung Shui (which excludes Kwu Tung from the boundary adopted in the 2021 Population Census) is used in the Storytelling Map for comparison, except for the thematic maps of education and internal migration themes .
  3. Data of Tin Shui Wai New Town is available since 2001.
