Answer: The Government rent demand note issued by the Lands Department consists of a 11-digit reference number. Should you wish to cancel the Direct Debit Authorization for Payment of rates and/or Government rent issued by the Rating and Valuation Department (“RVD”), please refer to the website of RVD at: https://www.rvd.gov.hk.

Answer: If you wish to change your bank account for Direct Debit Authorization for Payment of Government Rent, please i) inform your concerned bank and ii) let us know by filling in the Cancellation of Direct Debit Authorization for Payment of Government Rent form (LND458) for proceed. You may inform the new bank by filling in the form DIRECT DEBIT AUTHORIZATION FOR PAYMENT OF GOVERNMENT RENT (LND455) which can be found on our website: https://www.landsd.gov.hk/tc/resources/public-forms.html.

Answer: In general, the amount for annual Government rent of the same property is the same. You may locate your concerned bank account by checking your recent payment records near to 1-2 working days after 24 June or 25 December.

Answer: Generally, owners need to inform us to change payer’s particulars when they sell their properties. If you have submitted the form Cancellation of Direct Debit Authorization for Payment of Government Rent (LND458) and selected “change of ownership” as the reason for request, we will proceed to cancel your Direct Debit Authorization for Payment of Government Rent, payer’s name and correspondence address.
