Established in 1965, the SMO Training School is progressing in time with the changing environment. It transformed from, at its early era, with the mission of training up surveying and cartographic technicians to fill the departmental need to, by now, a learning centre facilitating the continuous learning and development of staff in the fields of land surveying, cartography, GIS and management.
The SMO Training School not only delivers tailor-made surveying, cartographic and GIS related courses to meet the operational needs of the SMO and other departments but also manages the procurement of courses from other parties in boarder subjects including surveying, cartography, GIS, language, management, microcomputer software, and occupational safety and health.
