Free Aerial Photographs

SMO undertakes aerial photography in the whole territory of Hong Kong producing various types of aerial photographs including colour, false colour infrared and oblique. The aerial photographs can be used for topographic mapping, emergency survey, evidence gathering, planning and prediction purposes. All digital maps, including digital aerial photographs, which are produced by the Survey and Mapping Office of the Lands Department, are the intellectual property and asset of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It is a Government policy to protect all the copyright of these intellectual property and asset. Therefore the digital maps that are distributed to members of the public should not be disseminated, in part or in whole or in whatever forms or media, to a third party.
