Value Added Reseller (VAR) Service

Graphical Introduction to VAR services

The VAR Service was launched in late 1998 with an aim of opening up the opportunities to business sector to develop various types of value-added map product using SMO’s digital map.  The Service is non-exclusive and subject to charges. 

Charges required for using VAR Service

1.      Data charge for the related digital map and update charge for the subsequent updates 

2.      Royalty charge of the VAR product 

Application of Value Added Reseller (VAR) Service

Interested parties are welcome to submit proposal with the following information :

1.      Company Profile 

2.      Technical expertise in the proposed map application / product

3.      Details of Proposed VAR product :

  • The scope of VAR product to be developed 

  • Development schedule & estimated development cost

  • Selling price of product 

  • Security measures to protect SMO’s digital map 

  • Benefits to the community 

  • Suggested percentage for royalty charge 

  • Forecast revenue for 2 to 3 years 

4.      Percentage of Digital Map to be used in the VAR product

5.      Other relevant information
