Two pre-sale consents issued in March

The Lands Department issued a total
of 11 consents for the sale of units in uncompleted developments between
January and March 2004, seven of which were for residential units and four
for commercial units. The Department also issued two consents to assign in
this period, both in respect of residential units. All of them were issued
within the Department's performance target time limit.
A spokesman for the Lands
Department said today (April 7) that the seven consents for residential
units involve the sale of 2,079 units in various parts of Hong Kong. Four
of these developments comprising 801 residential units are due to be
completed within 2004 and the remaining three developments comprising
1,278 residential units are due to be completed before July 2005. The two
consents to assign issued between January and March 2004 involve 1,976
units.
The Department issued two consents for the sale of 89 residential units in
two uncompleted developments in March 2004. The developments are located
on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon. One development was completed in March
2004 and the other should be completed by August 2004.
As at the end of March 2004, a total of 16 applications for presale
consent involving a total of 12,478 residential units located in various
parts of Hong Kong were pending approval. Four of them involving 3,277
units are expected to be completed within 2004. Eight involving 7,049
units are expected to be completed within 2005 and the remaining four
involving 2,152 units before February 2006. There was one application for
presale consent and three applications for consent to assign, all
involving commercial units, pending approval.
Members of the public may obtain up to date information on consents to
sell residential units in uncompleted developments issued for the last six
months and cases pending approval as at the end of March 2004 by dialling
the hotline 2147 5475 or on the Lands Department Website at
www.info.gov.hk/landsd/.
The names of the developer, its parent company (if any), its solicitors,
authorized person (including the name of the firm) and the mortgagee bank
(if any) in respect of individual developments are also available to the
public in the form of reports obtainable through the fax-on-demand
facilities of the hotline or the Lands Department Website.
